Why Slow Pitch Jigging Works in Cold Water
You’re not just buying jigs—you’re buying proven performance.
When fish slow down, fast lures are ignored. But slow pitch jigs flutter, fall, and hang in the strike zone—mimicking dying baitfish with lifelike action that triggers bites from even the most stubborn predators.
Whether you're vertical jigging from a boat, dropping from a dock, or fishing from shore, these jigs deliver:
✅ Saltwater-rated assist hooks (BKK with UV tassels)
✅ Through-wire construction that lasts
✅ High-quality paint & foil for low light visibility
✅ Thousands of 5-star reviews from real anglers
"Used it right out of the package and had a school of fish chase it up. Caught 2 at once!” - Douglas

Best Jigs for Slow Pitch Jigging in Cold Weather
Here’s how to pick the right jig for your cold-water bite:
Micro Slow Pitch Jigs (10g–15g)
Perfect for kayak anglers, docks, and shallow bays where fish stage in winter. Try the Micro Sumo or Micro Mercenary when subtle presentation matters. The Ogre Jr and Death Blade bring knife jig action and a special cast and retrieve element to the catch.
Lightweight Slow Pitch Jigs (20g–40g)
Ideal for deeper pockets, pier pilings, and light current. The Sumo and Mercenary work great here—especially when you need to stall the jig mid-water.
Middleweight Slow Pitch Jigs (40g–100g+)
Best for deep water vertical jigging in winter. Drop the Ogre, Javelin, or Mercenary down through structure, wrecks, or offshore ledges.
Heavyweight Slow Pitch Jigs (200g–600g)
When predators push deep in winter, heavy metal gets it done. Samurai, Kraken, and Heavy Ogre jigs punch 400+ feet down with through-wire strength, ribbed glow profiles, and serious stopping power.
Hooks for Cold Water Success
Cold-water bites are subtle, but when they hit you need hooks that hold. Saltwater-grade BKK assist hooks with UV tassels deliver max strike triggers and load strength across all jig sizes.
🧠 Pro Tip: Fish get lazy in the cold. A jig that flutters instead of darts gives you the edge.

Let customers speak for us
Built by Fishermen for fishermen who make their own bite
During the 2020 lockdowns, I was grinding the bays of San Diego with a rod in one hand and way too much frustration in the other. I kept tying on slow pitch jigs that looked the part but couldn’t deliver — paint flaked, hooks bent, fish didn’t care. As a lifelong angler and a black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, I know success doesn’t come from luck. It comes from reps, precision, and gear you can trust.
So I decided to build my own. That’s how Submission Fishing Co. was born — in a garage, not a boardroom. Every jig we make is tested by me and our crew, built to handle everything from spotted bay bass to offshore bluefin. Just like on the mats, fishing is about putting in the work and seizing the moment.
We didn’t start in a boardroom. We started in our garage—frustrated by flimsy lures, raising a toddler, running a family business, and chasing our black belt in fishing. We built Submission Jigs because we were tired of “good enough.”
